Free GoTagger Recommended

GoTagger is better than Brill tagger which has a French UI and needs to modify the settings of the default text editor for tagging English texts.
GoTaggerで使用されているタグのNを表示。当然だが、「Brill Tagger」とも共通。
GoTagger使用的tagset同Brill Tagger是一样的。

This is a good find. Thanks.

Some steps that need to be taken before you can get it to work:

Extract GoTagger to a folder (e.g. c:\GoTagger);

Download Brill's Tagger;

Extract files from the compressed Brill tagger package;

Copy the (10 lexicon and rule) files under 'Bin_and_Data' to
C:\GoTagger\G_data;

Run GoTagger;

Select file(s) to tag;

Wait;

Click on top window and preview tagged result in bottom window.

(It actually uses Brill's tagger as the engine and provides a better
user interface than the French version, WinBrill. That's why you
still need to have the core Brill stuff in place.)

Please describe step by step the procedures of your operation, but before that pls make sure you have got brill tagger engine installed.
Screen captures may help with the diagnosis.

yet I can't find the (10 lexicon and rule) files under 'Bin_and_Data' . even worse i can't find BIN_and_DATA in the winbrill's file holder. the following is what I have in my winbrill downloaded from our site!

Sorry I have missed your post.

Looks to me like you didn't get the Brill Tagger. You probably got the WinBrill or
some other varieties of it. You need to get the original Brill Tagger. There is a
link here:

Look for the link to "Brill Tagger". You could also Google the Web with
'Brill Tagger' or "Eric Brill".

By the way, Eric Brill's home page is pretty funny if you haven't visited it.

What you posted here is TXTANA - TEXT ANALYSIS, not GoTagger.
I guess both TXTANA and GoTagger can work well on Japaness OSes.
